Dr. Deepak Singh
Prof. Dr. S. Nagarajan is the Principal of Surendra Institute of Engineering and Technology, Siliguri, Darjeeling, West Bengal. Before joining this position, he was working as a Professor and Head in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Jerusalem college of Engineering, Chennai. He has a vide experience of 21 years in the teaching field in various institutions. He completed his PhD from Anna University in the year 2014. Dr. S. Nagarajan is a leading academic researcher and He was the Professor and Head of the department for the past 10 years, who played a role model for other staff members in the pursuit of academic excellence, leadership and managerial skills. He is a very good ambassadorial and diplomatic skillset person.
Dr. S. Nagarajan took the responsibilities for setting and advancing the academic strategy of
the Department in line with Faculty and University strategic plans. He developed and
sustained an appropriate structure for management, consultation, decision-making and
communication with staff and students. He makes effective use of all staffing resources and
seek opportunities for collaboration and joint working with others beyond the department and
beyond the Faculty. Under his leadership, guidance and active involvement the team of
faculty members have worked for NBA, NAAC Accreditation and Autonomous status and
earned a praiseworthy comment from the committee. As a leader, he was a professor of
placement and training and Disciplinary committee chairman of the college.
He is a recognized supervisor for M.S/PhD of Anna University. His research area includes
Electrical Machines & Drives, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy and Power System
.Presently he is guiding 3 research scholars. Under his guidance 30 UG batches and 15 PG
students had completed their projects successfully.
He received the ‘’Best Outstanding Teacher “award from Jerusalem College of Engineering
for 2 times in the year of 2002 and 2018 respectively and also he received award from Pearl
Foundation in the year 2016 for the same. He is a Fellow member of IEI, Life member of
IET, IEAE & ISTE. He organized many FDTP programmes sponsored by Anna University
and ISTE. Dr. S. Nagarajan has published more than 30 papers in International Journals and
conferences.
